Comhairle na Gàidhlig – the Nova Scotia Gaelic Council

Dhia dhut,

This year Comhairle na Gàidhlig is offering the opportunity to renew or purchase your Council membership in advance of the Annual General Meeting and An Là Mòr scheduled for June 27, 2015.

Comhairle na Gàidhlig provides representation and leadership for the Nova Scotia Gaelic Community. We advocate and lobby on behalf of the community to ensure their needs and interests are met.  We advise the business sector and government, including school boards, in regards to the advancement of awareness and policy, which strengthens our culture and preserves our heritage. The non-profit, volunteer organization, in partnership with other leading Gaelic community organizations, advises and makes recommendations, ensuring the fostering of growth of Nova Scotia’s unique Gaelic identity.  We work with our partners to lead the development of Nova Scotian Gaelic language and culture.

One of the ways in which you can continue to support our efforts and our community is through the renewal or purchase of a Council membership.

As a member of Comhairle na Gàidhlig, you will be updated on Gaelic activities and events happening within the province and around the world. Council Members are given the opportunity to vote at the Annual General Meeting, participate on the Board of Directors and volunteer on one of our committees. We are a community of individuals actively involved in investing in the growth of our creative spirit and Gaelic identity, enhanced through the development of our cultural activity and language.
